How did you get started ?
Wow, let's see if I can remember that far back...hahaha!!! I bought my first records from Oaklawn in October of 1989. Shortly after I transferred to Stephen F. Austin in 1990 where I made mixtapes from my bedroom until I landed a couple of residencies at a few of the local clubs on campus.

I left school in 1993, moved back to the metroplex and immediately scored a residency at a new swanky club in Ft. Worth called the Piranha Bar. That gig helped me get discovered and recruited into Ft. Worth's original renegade rave unit called "Anomaly." I left Anomaly in 1994 and rented a warehouse with Joel Alamo in Haltom City which became infamously known as the "Big House." For a full year threw the largest events ever seen west of Dallas. Once the city comdemned the building in 1995 I moved to Denton and joined forces with Silent Eclipse and helped organize what was at the time some of the first large multi-headliner events in Dallas including the ZODIAC series, SEANCE, & GLOBAL MELTDOWN. After the demise of Silent Eclipse in 1996, I enjoyed multiple residencies at a few Ft. Worth clubs such as the Aqua Bar, Underground X, Frixion, and Dog Star until I moved to Dallas in 1998.

Since the move to Big D I have regularly been performing at events both in and out of Dallas. I have held a few club residencies at places like the Sand Bar and the Home Bar. In March of 2000 I opened an online record store called Tech*Sun Records which exactly a year later in March of 2001 became a physical store located in Arlington as well. I am proud to say both are doing very well!

Who inspires you musically and why?
Well, I began producing myself about a year and a half ago and you can definitely hear the influence of guys like Stacy Kidd, Gant Garrard, Gene Farris, Ian Pooley, Bob Sinclar, DJ Nekbath, Sebastien Leger, and Olav Basoski in my music.

How much have you changed musically since you started?
[1989 - 1994] Industrial/Techno/Hardcore Breaks
[1995 - 1997] House/Funky Breaks/Speed Garage
[1997 - 2001] ALL HOUSE BABY!!!

Name two of your favorite tracks.
Two classics I will always love are "Who Keeps Changing Your Mind (South St. Players)" & "Big Love (Pete Heller)."

What do you think of the current state of the Dallas Scene?
Well, I have pretty much witnessed all the peaks and valleys of the Dallas scene since it's inception and I would have to say things are pretty healthy right now. Quality venues are a little anemic at the moment but there are a lot of big names in town nearly every weekend. This is not neccessarily a good thing though. Huge parties draw huge attention.

Until raves can shake their negative stigma it will only complicate things in the long run. I think we are already beginning to see the results of making our culture so visible. I would rather see small to medium size events become the norm for awhile. If there is one definite bright spot for Dallas right now it's the number of quality producers and labels that are beginning to pop up. I think this is where Dallas will take it's biggest step forward in the years to come.

When is your next gig?
Friday October 5th at the Sand Bar. For a complete listing of my DJ schedule you can check out the Tech*Sun website.
