How and when did you get started?
Back in 1989 a friend of mine took me to a teen club called Metropolis and there I realized that there was more to music than the stuff that was being played on the radio. I've always had an understanding for all types of music since I can remember so you could just imagine what it felt like being exposed to something so new and fresh. Shortly after I met long time friends James Oliver and his twin brother Alec Oliver and began to learn how to DJ. About three months later I met one of my best friends Trey Chron Goza, whom shortly after became my roommate. He was one of the major influences on my sound. This was before I actually started buying records - I would just play his. He would buy breaks and some house and for some reason I always caught myself playing his house records. Anyways, to make a long story short, I began playing out in Dallas in 1992 and I've been playing here ever since at just about every club that's been open. In 1997 I began to dabble into music production with Brett Johnson and James Oliver.
How much have you changed musically since you started?
Since the music has changed I guess I have just followed the tide. One thing I haven't changed is the selection and quality of the music that I like.
Who or what inspires you musically and why?
I would say all the cats that taught me in the past from previous record releases like Kerri Chandler, Nite Life Collective guys, K.O.T., early '95 house, and of course my peers here in Dallas.
What kind of music can we expect to hear from you?
Next level shit. As each session goes by I keep learning more and more.
Name your top 2 tunes:
Brazilian Sugar by George Duke
Parallels (track I just completed in the last two weeks)
What else do you listen to if it's not house music?
Hip Hop, Rock, Jazz, Contemporary Christian, pretty much everything but country.
