What kind of music can we expect to hear from you?
The JV sound is somewhat genre-blurring and incorporates elements of
House, Tech House, and Techno... but these days, there's
really no telling. Lately I've been drawn to the electric guitar *gasp!*
Who/what inspires you musically and why?
Producers: Inspiration for me comes from artists that think outside
of the box and do something unique and creative yet still maintain
a grip on the dance floor. To me, a good piece of dance music will make
you move your body while simultaneously stimulating your mind. To be
honest, right now there aren't a lot of dance producers that are doing
it for me.
DJs: An inspiring DJ to me keeps a close eye on set flow, progression, and destination. In my opinion, the goal is to change it up, keep it
fresh, take it somewhere during the course of the night, take some risks, find a way to bridge the gap between, energy levels, moods, vibes,
colors, sound design, patterns, genres. Push the limit.
Do you listen to any non electronic dance music? If so, what do you listen to?
Depends on when you ask me. I'll go through periods of dance music
only and then periods of no dance music. I feel the breaks are important,
gives you a chance to recharge your battery and gain new ideas. Right
now, I'm rediscovering my love for Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins,
Depeche Mode, and others.

Where can we buy your music?
What do you think of the current state of the Dallas scene? And what do you think we can do to improve it?
As many of us know by now, it's all about cycles... The current scene
is definitely smaller that it was a 3-4 years ago, but it's still
got a strong hold. "Variety" is one thing we are seriously lacking though. While
we still have great events here and there, most of the time, it's the
same DJs from the same cities, playing the same records. I'd like to see
promoters going out on a limb more often and book names that have
more of a unique sound. And to the heads, don't be afraid to step outside of the box and try something
new either. Just because itís not a name from your immediate circle doesn't
mean you won't like it.
Is there anything you see that other musicians do that annoys you?
Anyone that thinks they can side-step the years of hard work and
determination and jump straight to the "Blowin' up phase".
DJs and Producers with egos bigger than their accomplishments.
