America needs to take a looooooong look in the mirror. The pieces of the puzzle are slowly being put into place. This is a bit of old news if you are a supposed 'conspiracy' (theorist???) nut. Isn't the way these programs are being impliemented the same way the Nazis did back in the 30's-40's. First you target a group of people(demonize them) through the power of media(propanganda), create a problem(Kristallnacht/9-11/terrorism/immigration/drug epidemic) offer a solution(Final Solution/war on terror/war on drugs, etc) but first you must give up your freedoms(civil liberties) in exchange for security(id cards/sneek n peek/curfews/increased survellience, etc.) from the state. "If you are not with us...than you are AGAINST US." Remember that statement??? It's gonna come back and bite ya in the ass... "Immigrants" aren't the only ones they have in mind for these "internment camps".

google korematsu and take a look at the court case surrounding the internment of japanese americans during WW2. this isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened on US soil.

KBR AWARDED U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY CONTINGENCY SUPPORT PROJECT FOR EMERGENCY SUPPORT SERVICES

ARLINGTON, Virginia – KBR announced today that its Government and Infrastructure division has been awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to support the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities in the event of an emergency. KBR is the engineering and construction subsidiary of Halliburton (NYSE:HAL).

With a maximum total value of $385 million over a five-year term, consisting of a one-year based period and four one-year options, the competitively awarded contract will be executed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District. KBR held the previous ICE contract from 2000 through 2005.

“We are especially gratified to be awarded this contract because it builds on our extremely strong track record in the arena of emergency operations support,” said Bruce Stanski, executive vice president, KBR Government and Infrastructure. “We look forward to continuing the good work we have been doing to support our customer whenever and wherever we are needed.”

The contract, which is effective immediately, provides for establishing temporary detention and processing capabilities to augment existing ICE Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) Program facilities in the event of an emergency influx of immigrants into the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs. The contingency support contract provides for planning and, if required, initiation of specific engineering, construction and logistics support tasks to establish, operate and maintain one or more expansion facilities.

The contract may also provide migrant detention support to other U.S. Government organizations in the event of an immigration emergency, as well as the development of a plan to react to a national emergency, such as a natural disaster. In the event of a natural disaster, the contractor could be tasked with providing housing for ICE personnel performing law enforcement functions in support of relief efforts.

ICE was established in March 2003 as the largest investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security. ICE is comprised of four integrated divisions that form a 21st century law enforcement agency with broad responsibilities for a number of key homeland security priorities.

I wonder if the "lack" of response to Katrina victims was a planned "exercise" to judge the effectiveness of programs ALREADY in place dealing with the MASS INTERNMENT of people. From my understanding many of these "camps" have been in place for YEARS...ie closed military bases and such.

I haven't said anything about "Blackness". The victims of Katrina spanned ALL RACES. But a vast MAJORITY of the ones adversely affected were POOR and the MAJORITY of those WERE African-American.

Don't try to taint the message by attacking the messenger...

Apology accepted. On the racism front...I just call it like I see it(with 20/20 vision...corrective lenses of course). On the subject of "racism" a book I just finished called "White Metropolis" is really good. The subject is race, religion and ethnicity in Dallas. I always wondered about the racial attitudes in this city(I'm a northerner) and this book added much insight. Example: there was talk(in the city of Dallas) of building a wall to separate whites from having to come into contact with blacks and to a large extent "dirty mexicans" on the city streets(I guess this talk of keeping THEM out and US in is NOTHING NEW!!!)The author is a professor at UT and wanted to study the effects that "whiteness" played in the part of(founding) this fair city.

Now back to the subject of concentration camps in the Amerikka. YES...These "camps" are in place for those deemed 'terrorists' but ANYONE can be called a terrorist with the Patriot Act(make sure I capitalize that...wouldn't want to get on their bad side...) .

3. there are tons of reasons to have camps and/or plans for camps that hold thousands. too many to name really.... well not really, i am just too lazy atm and you are intelligent. you can think of those reasons yourself.
