In Texas, if my vote doesn't count and the GOP candidate has an automatic win then that means that only Republican votes count... what the hell is that all about? Maybe that's just the kind of bullshit they want you to believe so no one bothers voting for another candidate. Obviously Republicans don't sit around talking about how their vote doesn't matter or else their candidate wouldn't win.
There may be more Republican voters in Texas than Democratic voters, but that doesn't mean that if you want to vote Dem that you shouldn't go out and vote. Things can change, and if not everyone is going out and voting then we aren't getting a representative vote for this state.
Oh and people should stop voting along party lines. Just because you think you're Republican or Democrat doesn't mean you really are... and it doesn't mean that the candidate of that party is really what you think the party is all about... and who knows, maybe you're a Republican or Democrat but you actually disagree with the parties candidate on key issues and you may want to vote for the other candidate.
I just am sick of hearing people talking about how your vote doesn't count, because it does count. You have no business talking bad about Bush or about politics if you're not going to vote. If you're for the war or against the war, you can let your opinion be known in a way that actually matters by going and voting.
