Eric, I thought we covered this already. There may be some hippies involved but they do not represent the whole movement. If you watched the video you just posted that's a bunch of students at a university. Not hippies or vagabonds. Did you know you sound like Fox News? lol. That should be a warning sign right there.
Also, the first amendment protects all Americans' natural rights to free speech and peaceful assembly...even yours. If you think people shouldn't have that right unless they agree with you then you are suggesting living in a fascist country.
Did you know you can go down there and address them yourself? The assemblies are open for anyone to speak and who knows... you might learn something.
Also, if you are worried about a movement being mobilized...uh, that's the point of a movement... if they are in agreement with something it moves. As far as riots / police state...I share some of those concerns but frankly, things need to change. Fear of repression should never get in the way of exercising our natural rights. If they do we are no longer living in a free country.
E you have every right to fear their mobilization. Yes their movement is incoherent and somewhat chaotic, but if history has taught us anything its that someone will eventually step up to take lead and capitalize on this anger and fear.
I just thought that video was hilarious, how the cop just nonchalantly starts spraying them in the face like he's just tired of doing it. lol

I think what has happened is there is more demand for communities and resources because of the growing world population. If you look at places like China and India they are really coming along and there is more demand. We American's are really the pigs of the world. 1 in 3 people on this planet lives in poverty and 70% or the Earths populations doesn't even have the internet. So it can't be like the old days where we can't hog all the foreign oil and resources.
The protestors do have a point. A guy making Billions while people starve around the world should be a crime against humanity. In reality everything from resources to technology should be regulated. Unless we are willing to send people to concentration camps and gas chambers we need to move away from oil for energy and colonize outer space. That may sound silly to most but you have to step back and look at the bigger picture. Unfortunatley nationalism and partisan politics will not solve the problems we face in the 21'st century.
