you can hit up forever young in grand prairie but its not just an edm related record store and there dnb is just all thrown together. If you got some time to sit and dig though you can find some gems.

what in the hell happened to all the stores? Are there not enough D&B djs to support a store here in Dallas anymore? (No offense to R-type but driving an hour to go buy records is so 1996 ;-) )

I think you summed it up right there. Why drive an hour when you can be on the internet in seconds.(of course you do have to wait a few days to get the records)

apparently both of you missed how eric delivers records to dallas at least 2 times a week. you can get the new tunes @ battletech on tuesdays or make special orders and pick them up friday or sunday @ minc. it's better than buying online b/c he brings them out for FREE!

not to mention eric and jason will be more than happy to take care of any of your special orders.

hell, get in touch w/ phooka or system to help you out as well.

He was asking what happened to all the record stores and I basically said the internet happened.

I was simply responding to his complaint that driving an hour for records was "so '96." You'd be surprised just how many people do make the "trek" to buy records though. There's just something about being able to listen to the record as a whole as opposed to just snippets of what the website you use thinks is good. But that's just my .02.

Wasn't saying that at all. But I prefer to do my shopping in the store, but I'm also right down the street from it. Not to mention I enjoy getting to see my friends that are there, and the internet just doesn't do that for me.

I like record stores better, but I don't have the time to spend 3 hours getting records everytime I wanna buy just like 2-3 tunes.. I'm sure I will be out to R-Type and order online as well. Its all about who has the record you want anyways... for me at least.
