Quote: Originally posted by Mustafa to surprise me just what types of historical hermeneutics folks will perform to force a religion, (or any type of discipline, really) into a mold that caters to their baser instincts. I wonder, however, just how our "Aryan" brother would respond to being called an Israelite or "Hebe", since he seems so comfortable with the fact that the Hebrews were not Jews. I also wonder whether he would be comfortable cozying up to the Falasha, (Ethiopean Jews who claim to be the Lost Tribe of Israel*.)
Race Theory has always been a double-edged sword for me. On one edge we have a number of fascinating cultural cross breeds that erupt from the cognitive landscape and prove to be pretty amusing. The works of say Noble Drew Ali, Sun Ra, and Stanislav Szukalski would be near the hilt with hardcore kooks like Francis E. Dek and Rose Mokry inhabiting the tip.
However, on the other edge, we have folks that are actually pretty dangerous. Folks like the Bruders Schweigen group, Gary Lee Yarborough, and the whole "Church of True Israel" nonsense. These cats tends to be far more dangerous than any of their African American corollaries (the UHURU group, Black Panthers, 5%ers, etc.), and really exemplify just how nasty white trash can get on any given day.
And then you got the fundamentalist Muslims, and that's just another can of worms entirely.
* It has been shown that these Jews were probably converts to Judaism and not actually offspring of the household of Abraham. | My understanding is that mitocondrial DNA testing has found specific genetic markers among several east african communities (Jewish) which provide very strong evidence of not only being culturally but also biologically descended from Jewish tribes. I have no idea if they are the same group(s) to which you referred.
