It seems to me that this is just Sasha's way of trying to get out of being pigeonholed. It's something artists hate and the press loves to do. Even Paul Van Dyk doesn't like being called "Trance Dj" but that doesn't mean he going to go up there and play a set of french house.
No one can even really agree on what 'progressive' means. It's vague, like "alternative rock", so a lot of stuff that doesn't really fit neatly into house or trance gets thrown in there. I've heard some of Involver, and it easily fits my idea of what progressive sounds like.
