what's the best way to clean these? i am having recurring problems with sound & have come to the conclusion that the contacts aren't responding properly. i have 1200 m3d's & ortofon carts. if i take out the cart & put a little spit on the contacts then screw them back in, it seems to correct the problem, temporarily.

ideas? suggestions?
