Part of this is true and the other part, not so true.

As a fitness instructor, certified in Pilates, Gyrotonic and Yoga I can honestly tell you that all of these alternative sources of excercise will help with weight loss. The lack of aerobic activity is not as important as the cleansing properties that the methods provide. The work is designed to create spinal flexibility and improve range of motion, which helps drop weight. Laying off the oreos helps too.

All of this discussion isn't as good as just experiencing it. For yoga I'd recommend Yoga Power in the Lakewood shopping center. Plenty of places will allow you to pay for the month or per class so you won't have to part with large amounts of money without knowing if you like what you're getting into.
