So it's like an addiction, like a drug addiction, except instead of being a druggie, they're addicted to eating, and are fatties. They can't stop, and don't want to stop, because eating makes them feel "good" and "happy".

I guess I understand. A junky looks in the mirror and says "what am I doing with my life?" just the same way an obese person probably looks in the mirror and says "how did I get so freakin massively whale-ish?"
