I would if I liked them and talked to them. If I don't like them and I don't talk to them... then I wouldn't.
Sure, the gifts would be cool... but you also run the risk of them turning up at the wedding. And if they turn up, you might have to pay for their food, drinks, etc. Is it worth the trade off? Instead, don't invite them and with the money you saved... buy what you want.
And if you are a guy... which I think you are... people don't really oohhh-aawweee or wonder when a guy has a ring on his finger. I doubt anyone is really going to be taken aback by it.
