This is what I thought before I went out and bought a new laptop w/o doing my homework. Brought it home, formatted, installed xp, and low and behold half of the hardware didn't work. Went searching the net for the drivers only to find out manufacturers are indeed not making hardward drivers for devices on machines that come pre-installed with vista. It's pretty big bullshit if you ask me.
I eventually got everything working with other models drivers and such, but it was a pain in the anus and took me a week to get everything configured and working. It would've been worth my time to spend the extra 200 bucks on a machine pre-loaded with xp.
