Do you mean Asian cultures generally stress education as a method of acheiving success in life? I'd agree.
Or did you mean that there is a cultural bias in standardized (et al) tests? If that's what you mean that myth's been largely shattered.... one great example was remote living Alaskan natives (culturally very remote) scoring better than students living in the lower 48 with local culture everywhere around them. Another was first generation immigrants scoring higher etc etc etc.
