but does the UK recognize Sharia law for Muslim Brits? i remember hearing about that but didn't follow up on it.

I can't imagine that the majority of Muslims would care whether or not Sharia was applied to non-Muslims so no I don't think they'd want it to apply to all Brits. Why do you?
