And yes, you're stance on not calling the average voter an asshat will win any hearts and minds, but a "patronizing" comment like this from Obama will. Even if he really believes we are all vial creatures that will rot in hell.
But, it doesn't matter what his "real" intent is. This is a positive thing.
And if Billy Bob hates homos and never wants a homo to get any more rights than a homo has, he's a lost cause anyways...
It's about moderates. And I'd imagine this will appeal to most moderates.
Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I doubt it.
It's about baby steps.
