Um...it was a joke. Coriander is not native to the Americas. It had to be brought. Seeing as how we call it cilantro, the spanish word for coriander leaves, I picked a Spanish explorer to bring it. And since I find the taste horrid, I made it a mean trick played on the native peoples. And Cortes wasnt exactly butt buddies with the natives, so I picked him.
