Made it over to j.u.t.s just in time to see the NRG put on a great set. LOTS of percussion and high energy sound with some natural feel good songs. The crowd was very responsive.....and sweaty.... but tons of smiles throughout.
Then booked it north just a few miles over to the Gingerman Pub. Took another stroll around the area to find 3 different local groups. Some very chill blues, a little bit of rock and roll, and some acoustic guitars all within a square block.
Last but not least, Santigold at HOB. I'll admit I didnt know what to expect, but I was completely blown away by the show. The wide range of genres in the song writing from reggae to some american indian tribal beats coupled with the fact that she was actually singing everything made this white boy shake a little. Great to see some familiar faces out. And N.M., thanks for the tip on the laaaaaaazy tango.  | and thank you!
