She earned her position, it wasn't handed to her. More-over, she's re-earned it multiple times via re-election. And regardless of how hard you think she works, it's still military protocol that an officer refer to someone by position:
General Jones
Sargent Right
Captain Bligh (when the captain of a ship regardless of rank)
Mr. President
Secretary Gates
Senator Boxer
etc.
I've verified this with multiple veterans from different branches(Navy, Marines, Army specifically). So yea, she's being a pain in the ass, but he also slipped on protocol. In the end, it's only as big as you and the Right want to make it. Realistically, more people care about Jon & Kate Plus 8 than this shit.
