Same for Kaskade (whom i dont even like, but will give props where they're due) |
Brotha this is Dallas, I've been to some of the biggest parties in the world 10 yrs strong, I know when a party is going off as well. Did this go "go off" no! But did I have fun? fuck yeah!! Kaskade.... Really Scotty? Of course people are gonna show and fill the floor, those are the same people who would show up to a tiesto show!!!!
Tommie Sunshine on the other hand just isnt a dj that people in Dallas are gonna hurry up for and reck the dancefloor with, (except the fact he co-wrote silver screen a track you sang over a microphone @ ghost bar which the lyrics he wrote) So without tommie, that fun little jive you did wouldnt of existed. People just don't know about him that well, unlike a kaskade who's all over beatport and riding the deadmau5 coat tails so yeah.... BUT! How many other house artists can say they have a platinum record on thier wall or 2 bbc documenteries on house music, or being on the cover of urb and times? His remixology is enough to just say hahah. Is every show that goes down in dallas supposed to go off scotty? EVERY SHOW? That would be lame, it wouldnt be special like it is when I was at plush when eddie halliwell threw down the sickest set I've ever seen ANYONE throw down, and that includes Zabiela, (AND THAT NIGHT WAS DEAD, ASK ANYBODY THERE, AND MY HOMIE, GIRL AND I WERE THE ONLY ONES DANCING YET THAT SHIT WENT OFF CAUSE OF WHO I WENT THERE TO SEEE. and believe me, I've seen every traveling international dj that's worth a damn the 10 yrs I've been hitting every massive/club possible....
Bottom line, If every show I went to was a "eddied halliwell" night I would eventually just stop going out, it would get old. I like changes, seeing different sets, different crowds, dancing or non dancing.... Fuck sometimes I prefer a non dancing crowd, it gives me room to dance and not have peoples arms of sweat all over myself. Just because a night doesnt go perfect doesnt mean you have to knock it. And just because people dont dance (when actually people were you just didnt see us) mean its a bad show. TS isnt an eddie halliwell but his spirit was welcoming and I enjoyed seeing him, and have highest respect for him and will continue to respect him. You go back 4+ yrs ago the crowd probably would of been different since those were his "highlight" career days.
Anyways, I'm very open minded and non biased I can enjoy just about anything at a show. I think positive unlike others. Instead of trying to find out things that you don't like and post them, I like to talk about things I did like and post them. Basically I don't need perfection (althought its great when I get it that one time a yr or so) All I need is my friends, good sound, a headliner I respect, a full set and I'm satisfied.
