twitter has actually increased my productivity (i follow leaders in my industries) and has kept me from wasting my days posting on this mind numbing forum.
i use tweetdeck to separate them into groups so i can go straight to the info i want... and can receive private text messages from those in other countries at no extra cost.
it's straight to the point and the quickest way to get information and stay on top of shit that actually matters.
it's all about how you use it. my creative inspiration and output and has grown dramatically. and it's nice to have all your entertainment sources and friends invites flowing straight to your desktop application.
