Well, my mom brought up an interesting point. She could be firing up to come out swinging in 2012 as the "true maverick." If she resigns instead of plays ball, she can then come back with all of the rhetoric about being the only one who truly decided to not play games with tax-payer's money, etc. They could run a bit of a shock and awe campaign, with her coming out swinging against not only Obama, but the GOP as well. If they throw a more constitutionalist/libertarian spin on her, they might be hoping to pick up the Ron Paul voters and bring them back to the GOP as well bring some younger voters into their party as well. Could be very, very smart if they can pull it off.
