Tenn. County Seeks to Ban Gays

Do you conservatives really want to align yourselves with this voting block?

No more than liberals want to align themselves with Pol Pot.

Yeah, except you guys all have the same agenda in trying to maintain state mandated discrimination.

wow - that wasn't nice

who are "you guys" anyway.

I was simply saying that if there is a group of "conservatives" trying to make homosexuality illegal then they'd be as welcome as Pol Pot would be to a liberal.

The courts have ruled...the state cannot criminalize homosexuality. Thats a done deal. And further, I really don't know why anyone would want to do such a thing.

I think you confuse moral conservatism with political. You would not be hard pressed to find democrats who have big problems with homosexuality. Kerry has said he opposes gay marriage - does that make him both conservative and interested in maintaining state mandated discrimination?

I know, I'm just irritable today. Between the federal money Bush spent to create fake news stories, the refusal of Rumsfeld to stand behind his own statements, and the Tennessee rednecks trying to outlaw gay people, I'm even more ticked off today than usual.

Yeah, but that's just your standard "see which way the wind is blowing" Democrat trick. I think we all know what he really thinks about this issue.

So if he feels he cannot get elected by coming out (if I may use such a phrase) for gay marriage do you not think that he is sufficiently certain that enough hard core democrats would abandon him if he did?

What I am suggesting re: gay marriage is that there are enough democrats opposed to it to make Kerry unelectable if he supported it......

meaning it is not an isue you can pin on conservatives as the only supporters - clearly there are plenty of dems who oppose gay marriage.

that's truly a horse of another color

anyway - did the Supreme Court not decide within the past year that it was unconstitutional to criminalize sexual behavior between consenting adults in the privacy of their own home regardless of the gender of the participants?

I wonder if it's possible to declare economic warfare on a county a render it destitute without actually committing a crime.

Damn... that's fucked up.... Crimes against Nature?

WTF is defined as a crime against nature?

That's pretty retarded... by that logic we should prosecute pharmaceuticals, the petroleum industry and the agricultural industry as crimes against nature.

Not to mention the technology sector. construction industry and the list goes on...

But we can simplify the list: HUMANKIND

That's the traditional way of saying "blow job" or "anal sex" without actually saying it in statute.
