Learning about Politics - Dallas Dance Music - Dallas nightlife, music, tickets, and more

Hi...I'm fairly new to looking at politics in the US and around the world and would like to know where I could learn more about it....

such as sites on the internet, books, etc...

Terms like right wing, left wing, or even Conservative and Liberal are very foreign to me and I don't know much about what they mean.....

Can anyone help me?

If you want to understand International Relations / Global Politics, I can highly recommend "International Relations: Perspectives and Themes" By Jill Steans and Lloyd Pettiford.

(The latter is one of my lecturers).

It is a great starter book to the world of Global politics - unfortunately, ime, such information is generally unavailable on the internet.

there's a list of useful links in a pinned thread at the top of this forum... however if you're serious about understanding politics the resource for you is books, books, books.. choose from a variety of authors with different philosophical backgrounds. remember that many men devote their entire lives to understanding these concepts, so don't expect to become an expert tomorrow

Start with A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn.

It's a history book but it will give you an understanding of how politics in America work.

i suggest The Grand Chessboard by Ziebrieg Brzezinski (sp?), for understanding foreign policy and world affairs. Formoer Sec of State, i think under Carter

Actually both.....I would like to learn how the political system works and learn about different theories behind it and why some work in certain situations and some dont for example
