Your predictions

While we are far from serious political analyst and futurist, most of you guys seem to have a good grasp of trends, both political and social trends.

If you had to make a "prediction" for lets say a decade's worth where would you say we will be in 2014?

Politically, socially, economically....

Between 2004 and 2014?

New breakthroughs in quantum telecommunications, other quantum technologies, nano-technology and neuro-technology revolutionizes online and wireless business services and a new economic boom begins, and is dominated, in the EU.

EU Becomes a world super power complete with an official standing EU military with better doctrines unifying the nation states.

EU foreign policy begins to echo that of old American foreign policy tactics.

China sends troops into Taiwan in an attempt to stop the state from becoming independent. World condemns action.

China expands space agency. Lays groundwork to compete in the commercial space business.

Globalization causes the world economy to change drastically to that of a highly integrated and automated human economy.

Many large corporations begin to integrate fully with their supply-chain via highly integrated partnerships. Anti-corporate Activists see this as a new form of monopoly.

American unemployment rate and GDP begins to balance out with the rest of the world, (unless America invests heavily into research the fore-mentioned technology predictions to catch up with Europe)

Otherwise, due to uncertain stability within the US, foreign investors invest heavily in the EU. American unemployment and GDP begins to balance out with the rest of the world.

Egged on by the American public and the media warring over social issues: federal, state and local governments grow divided into a political schism, causing social unrest and widespread civic disturbances. The possibility of a couple of states threating secession from the union is not out of the question.

Zimbabwean ex-patriots in Zambia and Mosembique from the land-redistribution exodus cause the two countries to become the agricultural power house in southern Africa, surpassing South Africa's production.

Zanu-PF party finally overthrown in Zimbabwe. Seeks aid from the IMF.
