Palestinians condemn US Veto

This isn't the first time the US has used it's veto power to protect Israel from the UN.

What was the UN going to do to Israel?

Has the UN done anything in the past to Palestine when their terroritst groups kill innocent civilians?

I'm not on either side by the way. Just not 100% familiar with the ins and outs of this particular case.

The UN has initiated several resolutions condemning Israel, and many of them the US has used its veto power to halt any such resolution from passing.

The few that have passed, have been essentially disregarded by Israel and the US alike.

The proposed text made no reference to terrorist organisations and the 337 Israelis killed by Hamas, that is why the US used its vetoe. If they would publicly come out against the terrorist groups, renounce terrorism, enforce law and not allow terrorist groups to operate freely then that would be some major hurdles cleared.

And if Isreal stopped bombing the very people charged with doing exactly that, ie the Palestinian Authority, perhaps they may have a chance of succeeding.

Oh wait, the PA are terrorists too, right?

Your one sidedness is boring.

Not everyone in the Palestinians Authority is a terrorist, but the Chairman Yasser Arafat is a terrorist, January 1, 1977, Beirut, Lebanon. Frances E. Meloy, U.S. ambassador to Lebanon, and Robert O.Waring, the U.S. economic counselor, were kidnapped by PFLP members as they crossed a militia checkpoint separating the Christian from the Muslim parts of Beirut. They were later shot to death, ordered by Yasser Arafat, he and his PLO instigated 2 civil wars Lebanon and Syria, he is the one who started air piracy, he has control over the terrorist groups and permits them to operat freely so he is responsible.

ahem,

point one. The UN security council is an outdated product of the cold war and should be changed.

point two. where are the UN protests against Israel?

point three. Hamas IS a terrorist organisation.

point four. so when are we gonna build a wall around israel, gaza strip, golan heights and palestine and let all these children kill themselves off. I swear the world would breath a collective sigh of relief.

Agreed.

This was a veto of exactly that, not that the protests have ever been given heed.

As well as a provider of welfare to thousands of palestinians.

As you've said in the past, I think, "One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter" - and they would term the US, UK, etc etc as terrorist organisations, too.

Yeah, probably.

The U.N. can sucks my balls. What a load of bullshit.

New idea: One world government; Two bodies: two from each nation in one and the other based on population.

None of this, "We're bigger and stronger so we get a free FUCK YOU vote!" That does nothing but allow a superpower the opportunity to serve some obvious personal agenda.

Wouldn't ever happen. The West would never support the idea of allowing population intensive areas, namely their slave pits and markets, to control a global government.

Ambushdrum, Russia, Britain, France, China also have veto power, and Russia has used it more then any other country.

I don't think his comment was US specific.
