Democrats-Republicans..What about America??

Just a random thought but i think it's crazy that Republicans and Democrats quibble the way they do. Its so bad that if i'm a Democrat and have a good idea and your a Republican..the Republican will not vote in favor of your good idea because it will make the Democratic party look good (or vice versa). The point is politicans need to put their partisan bs aside..and start doing what is truly best for this country. The only thing that they are truly non partisan on is voting themselves a pay raise. I say dissolve the parties ...that way people can focus on the issues!

just my 2 cents :O)

that's kinda what the whole point is. Both have different views on what's "right" for the country.

Care to expound a little bit on that?

Granted: I've never voted, just because I don't believe in it. But I was pretty sure that was why there were 2+ parties, because not everyone agrees on whats best for Ma America.

It is a rare day that an issue which both sides agree upon is shot down merely because the bill is offered by the other's party. It does happen - not often. Riders are more often the culprit.

i have to disagree..i think it happens quiet often that good ideas are shot down due to political affiliation (especially during an election year). I know that members of the senate and congress will disagree..thats a given..however..i think if political parties were dissolved then we could focus more on the issues of the individual! :O)

I simply don't think there is that much of a difference between the two parties. When it comes to significant issues, both pretty much vote the same way. Generally speaking, the only time there is really strong partisanship is on social/moral issues. Otherwise, there's usually some level of bipartisanship.

There's simply no cohesion ideologically from either party when it comes to action. There might be plenty on the rhetorical front, but very little when it comes to votes.
