Anyone watch the special on Discovery Channel? It showed a more plausible representation of how David came to power. Less on the divine intervention bit and more on the more possible facts of how history happened.

It's basically reviewing the story told in the bible, then looking at it on a more historical/political/social way and trying to see how things might have really happened. In the bible David is portrayed as this incredibly lucky, peaceful guy that gets to the top by sheer divine intervention. Well historically speaking this probably wasn't so. It shows his rise in the ranks, the slaying of king Sol and his unification of the tribes of Israel through a more analytical historical POV If you've got comcast I believe is Channel 16...
