Help me out a little here

Alright so I've decided that it has come time for me to register to vote and stuff. But I lack a few things... knowledge of these two people running for presidency. I know that Bush is pretty much a dumbass but I don't know crap about Kerry. I only know what other people have told me. I just want basic cold facts, I just don't know where to look.

Please help educate me in the ways of politics.

See I've been told that, and I'll see it eventually. But at the same time I want to know more than bush bashing.

I plan on not voting for bush, I just want to make sure I don't go in blind. If that makes sense.

yeah i need to research more too, i've heard that john kerry is planning on raising the min wage to $7/hr which is cool but i dont know if it's true.

not that it matters; i doubt that any of the candidates will do any of the crap they promise in election times.

If you don't know anything about politics or the candidates(which you admitted in the 1st post), how do you know Bush is a dumbass? Wouldn't it behoove you to do some research on each of them before deciding which vote you're going to cast?

Sounds like you want people to give you reasons to vote for Kerry.

If you really want to be educated on the issues it would seem that starting with the presumption that GW is a dumbass denies the notion of being open minded?

I would say just look at the facts, none of the bashing from either side or the little kid stuff "well he did it first" just the facts and base your vote on how you feel at that point. other than that good luck and thanx for voting

Here's a good start for ya. Go to their websites and look at the issues they think are important.

Don't pay attention to all the negative crap you hear going back and forth. Don't listen to the news, because most of what they are reporting really has no bearing on an effective president anyway. There is plenty of dirt on almost every single president that has ever served this country, even the Great ones.

Judge them on their issues for your first time out and you'll do fine.

Congrats on deciding to vote.

Please what ever you do don't let other's opinions or mainstream media make up your mind. Do it yourself with a little research.
