So, you needed to post a rhetorical question and then react like that when you got a response?

Certainly not - your question seemed like a real question. If you simply meant to make a statement - you could have done so - however - you chose not to. But, the answer you're looking for - when it comes to politics - I generally take the discussion seriously, yes. However, if you'd prefer that I not take yuo seriously - I can do that.

There isn't an evidence to support the allegations of a telephone smear campaign - only an allegation.

It was widely reported that Bush's people used a telephone smear campaign against McCain in which they quite intentionally misled voters against him. On that particular issue, I guess it comes down to who you believe - Bush or McCain. Considering the records of the two, there is no contest for me. Aside from that single issue, Bush ran an extremely dirty campaign against McCain - not just the typical political BS, but very personal and dishonest. In one of Bush's major ad campaigns, he had a breast cancer survivor try and convince the public that McCain was against funding for breast cancer. Bush was then asked if he thought that was true or not and he said "no," which meant that he was perfectly fine running ads against a member of his own party that he knew contained lies. Bush also accused John McCain of being a racist and a sexist, discounted his stellar military record, and attempted numerous other personal character assasinations. Apparently, they worked. |
