Kerry losing California?

I found it interesting that Kerry's lead in California is no longer dead to rights. The last poll I saw had Kerry with an 8% lead over Bush, which is considerably less than previous democratic candidates in presidential elections(Reagan notwithstanding). Back on July 11th, he had a 14% lead in the state. Do you think this is a reflection of California shifting to the right, or has Kerry done something that has turned Californians off to him?

(Mind you I haven't heard of him doing anything to piss off Californians inparticular, I'm just wondering aloud.)

http://www.electoral-vote.com/

States that are "Weak Kerry" states: (5-9%)
Wisconsin 9% 10 votes
Washington 9% 11 votes
New Hampshire 9% 4 votes
California 8% 55 votes
Pennsylvania 7% 21 votes
New Mexico 7% 5 votes
Michigan 6% 17 votes
Minnesota 5% 10 votes

California is definitely shifting to the right to some degree following all of the failed politics of the lunatic left-wingers out there. It was only a matter of time until those whackos started driving people away from the far-left. That being said, 8% is still a very solid lead for Kerry and I have no doubt he will take the state.

Man, if those numbers are right, Bush has got to be shitting himself. If Kerry take Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan, Dubya is F-U-C-K-E-D.

I'm not inclined to think Kerry will lose CA. However, the right in CA has felt abandoned forever and would like him to at least present a challenge to Kerry.

I wonder what that feels like to be in a state where your views are almost completely unrepresented and your vote never counts for shit because of the electoral system. Hmm...

A 322-205 lead is going to hard to turn around, especially looking at the states Kerry has decent leads in. Bush is going to have a difficult time winning if his strong leads are in states like Wyoming and Alaska.

I love how Bush and Kerry are exactly tied in Florida... :P

Kerry is ahead in every large state other than Texas. This is not good news for Bush.

If you look at the history on that site, May 24th had Bush leading 281-257, then the very next day he was losing 320-218. The fluctuations on there are massive.
