Hold on to that paycheck!

Bush fucks working Americans, period. Is this legislation any surprise? The guy takes more vacation than a Sandals resort, so really, what would he know about working!?

Just another case of W dividing, not uniting!

question is bootleg
SBC hasn't sent me anything saying that I'm no longer receiving overtime. And I couldn't figure out how this statute applies. It's so vague.

I don't get o.t. regardless of hours worked in a day or week etc. (and I'm not salaried) so I lost nothing from this but I am curious about its impact. So, do you have a citation to the actual legislation?

Can't find the legilsation yet. But here's a link to the Dept of Labor's site with the rules of the legislation. Seems really complicated, and doesn't make much sense. Why don't you get overtime Xiannaix? Do they make you take comp time?

I don't think anyone really know exactly how this is going to affect people yet. I'm sure the Dems are going to come out and tell everyone that it will make them starve, but I wouldn't freak out about it until we understand it a little better. The biggest problem I can see with it is that many employers do not know how to interpret it. Who gets to decide and how much will the confusion cost the tax-payer? I don't get overtime so it doesn't matter for me.

I'm salaried and don't get overtime so It won't effect me. I'll wait until someone clears up the incredible amount of vagueness before I form an opinion.

It kinda came out of the blue though it seems like.

Yeah, it does seem strange that Bush would back this right now. It's never a good political move to pass a bill that has to be explained to people, because they will always assume they are getting screwed. So far, not even the pundits seem to know what to make of it, but there seems to be some concensus that more people will be made ineligible than eligible.

Unfortunately, I have to WORK, unlike our Commander and Thief, but I found this during a real quick Google search. I hope this answers some lingering questions out there. I honestly don't have time to read over it right now, but I thought I'd throw it into the mix.

ONLINE RESOURCE

BTW, our borders are no safer, in fact, they are likely less safe due to buget trimming by the Bush sadministration. That's another post though.

From what I can recall, although I can't find documentation to back myslef up, this is a rules change and no new legislation was passed.
