Oh, and is bfp.. or whoever he is... being sarcastic in the posts or serious... I'm honestly curious.

Cause a lot of this sounds like people trying to sound smart and know what they are talking about... I'm sure you're all... intelligent ... people of course... I'm just wondering if this is more just for laughs than serious discussion..

I sound this way because I am smart and I do know what I'm talking about. I can't speak for the rest of them.

Seriously, though, there are some fans of electronic music who have not completely destroyed every braincell and who are sincerely interested in the shitstorm our country is in more than poop jokes and gothic porn. I enjoy shooting the shit in here, even with bfp.

As funny as it seems, Ryan is on the money. Most of the discussion in here (barring odd brand thought) is usually very informative. A & P seems to be the last bastion of tangible thought on DDM. We sometimes get penetrated by tidbits of witless banter, but overall, everyone that posts in here brings something to the table.

Bfp (G-d bless him) may throw up some of the most inane stuff from time to time, but without the posts, we would have that much less to talk about. I wandered in here one day after seeing the quagmire that UB can become at times and got hooked after seeing some of the tirades that were posted. The absolute eloquence of human speech is hidden here sometimes and most people don't even know it.

Technology, society, the workings of both the heart and mind, politics: these are the things that keep our brains addling along. The self-same people that you see in here don't wear the "Cap'n Serious" hat all the time, but when you see their text here, you had best believe that it is coming with some form of backing, belief, or search for understanding.

The last sentence is what I think separates A & P from UB directly. There is a lot less detritus to filter through in here.

Everyday there is something to be gleaned from the webbernet. Lucky for us that DDM has this welcome mat to deeper thought.

I'm semi serious. I like to discuss issues and make the occaisional not so appropriate smart ass remark and this seems as good a place as any to do so.

for some people it may just be talk but others are serious
