![]() | Student Charged after Clogging Toilet
taken from > Washington Times < Port of Sweet Grass, United States, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- A Montana college student arrested for clogging a toilet at a U.S.-Canada border crossing says he merely had an upset stomach. Daschle Jesse Huffman, 19, a sophomore at Montana State University-Bozeman, told the Great Falls Tribune he has hired a lawyer to fight the misdemeanor criminal mischief charge that carries up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. "I've never been arrested before or anything like that, and I get arrested for taking a dump," Huffman told his hometown newspaper. Huffman was returning to Montana with four friends from Lethbridge, Alberta, last weekend when their car was stopped by border guards at Port of Sweet Grass for illegal possession of alcohol, police said. He told police the incident upset his stomach, so he asked guards to use their bathroom. He said he flushed the toilet, but did not stay to see if everything went down properly. Huffman said the border officer humiliated him about the clogged toilet in front of his friends, blowing the incident "way out of proportion." When he offered to fix the problem, he was told there were no plungers. Port officials had no comment, the Tribune said. Huffman is due in Toole County court to answer to the charge Aug. 31.
