That the prime minister of Iraq can come up with more "sincere" statements off the top of his head than Bush? Granted, he's just reiterating what they've probably told him for weeks to say but Bush is stuttering and tripping himself up on generalized phrases that don't seem quite as candid since he has to look at something every three words. The Iraqi guy looks like he is actually speaking better English!

I agree, but I was focused more on the fact that given the obviousness of the Bush Administration to spin this political message of Iraq properity you'd think the man in charge would memorize his bullshit a little better than, "now that Saddam is out of power, Iraq is now much... uh..." *pause to look at cues* "better off. When talking about the American beheading which is obviously morbid and a touchy subject that needs no prepping, he gives some half-assed respect for the victim and their families, then tries to be compassionate for the other kidnapped American by throwing in a word with multiple syllables. "we will be in solidity... soliderarity, uhh... solidarity? with the other kidnapped worker and his family, yadda yadda yadda... something about praying for him..." It's like he tried to make it seem like he was coming up with this stuff off the top of his head. I like how he tries to do the same on his political rallies, but he just repeats specific statements and phrases and smiles when he finally puts together something that sounds reasonable. The funniest part is how half the country just shrugs it off. "Maybe we heard him wrong through our stupid ears."

Sorry Kevin, I couldn't pass that one up. ![]() For me, I don't even notice his malopropisms anymore. After 4 years of it, my brain automatically translates it from Dubya to English. I couldn't even do that with Latin or Italian. I guess I needed to start small.
