If anyone is interested, there's a special TV program on PBS right now exploring this subject using the contrasting viewpoints of Sigmund Freud and C.S. Lewis.

I have it recorded on my DVR. It was an outstanding show. I think it really showed how delicate the balance between the secular approach to humanity, and the spiritual approach to humanity really is, and how they both work together in weaving how humans work. I learned a lot of things about a couple of folks I've always had a lot of respect for. Never knew "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" was an Allegory for Chrisitianity.

As far as I know, all of Lewis' works are somehow Christian based. At least all the Narnia Chronicles are. Read "The Screwtape Letters" for some good stuff as well. I've got it if you wanna borrow it.

He always denied it actually. And for a time Lewis was a strong athiest. Although I never agreed with calvinist ideals or Lewis' interpretation of Christianity, I always felt the man was brilliant and I've read a great number of his works. There are points the man argued which any believer in a God or love for the matter could agree with. I suggest the movie "Shadowlands" for anyone who would like to be introduced to the man, his life, and ideals.

Oh i think it would have been better if Lewis was compaired to Nietzsche, also I think it would be good if they would compair the thoughts of Kant and Mill i think that too would be a good show.

Prince vlad, you may want to get the recorded program from question, because he has it in its entirety and on DVD. If not, I can send you the videotape I recorded.

C.S. Lewis was raised in a Christian home, but at the age of 13, he abandoned his childhood faith. Twenty years later, after having a long talk with J.R.R. Tolkien (a Catholic, Lord of the Rings author), Lewis came back to the faith and professed that he believed Jesus Christ is the Son of God. His literary works from that point on are based upon Christianity.

We cannot even begin to grasp the concept of God as he/she/it is!
