Kerry and Bush are related!

taken from The Sun (with a grain of salt)

PRESIDENT George Bush and election rival John Kerry are COUSINS, researchers have revealed.

Their forefathers hail from Wickford in Essex and the link dates back to the 1600s.

Common ancestor Edmund Reade was a minor member of the town’s gentry, say academics.

He died in 1623 — and his two daughters sailed to America, marrying into different powerful families who eventually produced the two candidates.

American genealogist Gary Boyd Roberts, who revealed the link, calculates the pair are ninth cousins twice removed.

Sarah Dickie of Essex Records Office has also found evidence of the Reades.

She confirmed yesterday: “The facts do certainly look to add up.”

Mr Bush can also trace relatives to the historic voyage of the
Mayflower in 1620.

Mr Roberts revealed Senator Kerry’s family on his father’s side were originally Jews from the former Austro-Hungarian empire.

They converted to Catholicism and changed their name from Kohn to Kerry before emigrating to America in 1904.

heheh probably. Most aristocratic families actually marry cousins to keep their lineage in their bloodline. It is a fact that more then 50 US presidents are related. I've read a few books on this. I also read that the Bush family bloodline come from the same bloodline as King Edward I, the same kind of England that William Wallace fought in the movie Braveheart.

As interesting as this is, 9th cousins, twice removed is more than the usual 6 degrees of separation than most people enjoy right? Then again, I guess it's highly debatable as to what those 6 degrees entail - in all actuality, the fact that they are both candidates for the same office puts them closer together than anything.

Was it mentioned in any of these books that we're still on president #43? I don't mean to be nitpicky, but if they're missing that basic fact-checking it tends to cast doubt on any of their other conclusions.

p.s. I've considered Bush & Kerry as fraternal twins for awhile now. Or as Maher put it - one of the few remarks I found both funny and astute - "what we're dealing with in this election is class warfare, Yale of '68 vs. Yale of '66".

Actually it was @ 25. Sorry about that. I didnt have it in front of me but the point of it was the fact that we're taught that presidents all come from this grass roots level as if anyone can be president where really they come from wealthy, aristocratic families and even bloodlines from British royality. Researchers have traced the bloodlines closely and found a lot of connections to each other.
