![]() | Election Predictions...
Most people I know are voting for Kerry but still think Bush will win. I'd give Bush a slight edge too, but Kerry is ahead of where Gore was last time it seems. I don't know a single Gore voter who is not voting for Kerry, I know quite a few Nader voters who are voting for Kerry this time, and I know more than a couple Bush voters who are voting Kerry. Aside from all the misinformed tards who keep saying one or the other "will" win, are any of you actually feeling really confident in which one win? And don't give me this partisan crap about "I believe the American people will have the strength and foresight to elect ____," because the American people are morons.

I believe Kerry finally has his head on straight with campaigning and is finally making smart decisions and is making good, impactful comments. I suspect that we will see poll numbers start to tip more in favor of Kerry over this.

The Anybody But Bush contingent is strong. The alternative offered by the Democrats is not very appealing to the disenchanted. The ABB crowd will not vote as a block for Kerry but will splinter among many candidates - some of whom will pull the lever for GW because they know Kerry voted against Gulf War I and they see this as an example of his "Global Test." Bush in a close race that will have some very interesting voter behavior that will keep the analysts crunching numbers and sorting data for some time..... and the distillers will become the new breed of political pundits on CNN, CNBC, etc etc |

I think Kerry will, but there will be a recount asked by the Republican party. Think a role reversal from 2000. I go right past the worst scenario possible and go for the most humorous.

Oddly it was Gore who responded with, "What would Jesus do?" in answering a question last campaign. Too much is made of Bush's faith by people who wouldn't vote for him if he was an aetheist. I think you'll need to look far and wide to find people who reject Bush on the basis of his religion. Anyway - it is one thing to vote for something as a block - quite another to vote as a block with the only unifying factor being a shared dislike for the alternative. Many voters dissatisfied with Bush find no solace in Kerry. | |
