The evolution of the Myth?

While we laugh at or appreciate simpler times through reading myths about emporers feasting with the gods, or courageous individuals fighting dragons or giants, it is important to realize that myths are stories that contain elements of true accounts. Embellished stories to capture the imagination.

While I doubt our politicians today have luncheons with Greek gods, they do tend to get caught up in stories about secret world orders and hidden government "big brother" organizations that see all and corporate "giants" terrorizing citizens through consumerism and the free market...

In the information age, it seems that truth tends to replace the word tale when conveying an incredible story, or rather new release/ documentary.

And there are other people with their own versions of the tale, screaming no no no, you're not telling it right, it went like this... and so newly revised press releases hit the world as tiny bits of information leak out...

Have myths truly died out or have they simply evolved with the times?

We have new-age griots (news reporters), myths (the news), and a whole slew of different ways of getting to the logic behind what is being presented as the "truth".

Myths plague the internet, plague our politics, and even plague our religion.

Myths have advanced as time has and rightfully so. Think of our children's children telling tales of the "Lady of the Aqua-purifier" floating up to their hover-car asking for a lift.

Imagine a time of all truths.

Not in our lifetime.
