There are others here who have greater insight on this than I do - but - I'd guess that the more "moderate" factions will separate from the "radical."

recall the PM that Arafat fired a few months ago?

also - the faction intent on doing violence will not be reined in by the factions seeking a political solution - they'll splinter - just mho

I agree... I'm thinking that one of his radical adjudants might end up taking over and the moderates will split off into their own group(s)...

If that happens then the Israeli army will jump in and prevent any of the militant groups from seizeing power from the Palestinian Authority. Abu Mazen is a likely replacement for Arafat.
