And it takes a self-righteous person to point it out.

Welcome to the club!

And if believing in the principles that this country was founded on as well as debating the merits therein, is self-righteous, then so be it.

Wow. Who's self righteous? The people arguing the importance of voting? That's great.

If you don't vote, then you don't have any say in anything that goes on in the country. So you voting your rights away. People with attitudes like yourselves are the reason that things are the way they are now. It's easier to give up and admit defeat than it is to put forth the effort.

At least when things do change, I know that I will have taken an active role in that change and I did my part to see it through.

Scott, I dont believe your voting and your views means nothing.....I think people just overrate there actual "involvement."

And its not people that dont vote that have made things the way they are.....its the people in charge....the elite few.... you could go back decades, and take all the none voters and swing them in either direction, and OUR govt would have still fucked shit up. korea, vietnam, middle east, terrorism, dependance on oil and other resources. If our population truly had an impact, do you think those situations would have been the same?

What exactly are you going to be involved with after you vote in these elections?

And I havent admitted to defeat in a battle Im not even in......

It would be too easy. And quite frankly, I have no interest in arguing with someone who has no interest. It's boring, if nothing else.

We shall keep it simple and tone down this conversation.

Sorry, I don't debate politics with someone that bolsters their argument with conspiracy theories and aristocracy.

Question - I never said I wasn't. I find most people with a political opinion to be arrogant fools. Myself included, the difference between me and people such as yourself and Ryan is you two go around telling people like me that I'm "without logic" or a fool or "on his own little world" and etc. You believe what you want and I'll believe what I want. People like you think people like me are apathetic, misinformed, complacent, and unactive. You're making assumptions about me based on the fact that I may not want to vote.

Oh, well. Whatever.

Actions speak louder than words. If you're not any of the things we accuse you of, prove us wrong. But until you do so, that will be our "self-righteous" opinions.

And because Democracy is such a self-righteous thing.

I protest. I attend organization meetings. I discuss (to a limited extent) about the topics. I pay money to make DVDs, pamphlets and flyers, then pass them out informing people about different topics.

Did you know any of that? No. You just assumed since I won't vote, I'm apathatic, misinformed, complacent, and unactive.

It appears you are misinformed. I will go so far as to say it's people like you that make people like me become more less active, more apathatic, and more complacent. I find people like you to be the ones leading to misinformation.

See, assumptions are bullshit.
