![]() | Man looking at 40 years in prison for transporting 1500lbs of pot
A Glen Mills man accused of paying senior citizens to bring marijuana from Arizona to Baltimore and Philadelphia areas is facing federal conspiracy charges. John Faione, 44, can be sentenced to 40 years in jail and $4 million in fines according to an information filed by U.S. Attorney Patrick L. Meehan. An information is filed when there is an agreement between the prosecution and the defendant on the charges. Faione is accused of hiring elderly persons $100 per pound to take 300 pounds of marijuana at a time by hiding it in their vehicles. They are facing charges elsewhere. According to the charges, nearly 1,500 pounds were transported between 1998 and May 24, 2000. Among the places, Faione accepted the shipments were his homes in Aston and Glen Mills. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph T. Labrum III is prosecuting the case. [taken from: County Press Online]

Good thing they busted him, that marijuana could have killed thousands of innocent children.

I would honestly expect an elderly person to roll on me if they got busted. That's just one of the risks you take. But he only transported 1500lbs in 6 years. Quote:

well surely this has cut the supply tremendously. I won't be able to smoke a joint for at least 2 or 3 years.

wow, at least they got him. I mean, shit, if they aren't gonna go after horrendous criminals like this, they might have to deal with child abusers and murderers. And with any kind of luck, his lengthy sentence will take up space in a prison that could be taken up by someone who actually poses a threat to society, and we can't have that can we? God bless the fucking USA.

Clean pot, eh Keith? That's a new one to me. And I hardly think that the extremely rare cases where pot actually causes an adverse reaction is hardly a reason to keep something illegal. I mean, video games can cause sezuires, so can strobe lights! I don't see anyone making a fuss about that. Quote:

clean..... laced? Sure - you can get adulterated weed - but to think laced weed is passed off as not laced is not a very pressing concern is it? Because I'd think the expense and bother of lacing weed removes a lot of the profit from selling it? Not that selling bags of weed offers any kind of reward worth the risk from a rational pov. | |
