I think these are two different questions. I'm definitely proud to be an American, but I'm not happy about the political landscape of the country right now. I do have, what's that word, oh yeah, faith, that this country will end up doing "the right thing"tm.

I am not happy with the direction this country is going in, but I believe it can and will be changed after Bush and his minions finish fucking it up....

I just feel sorry for the guy who has to clean up their mess.

eh, i think they are directly intertwined, seeing how the country is 50/50 split on just about everything. There is a great chasm right now that i feel is ripping our Country apart. The extremists on both sides are unwilling to budge which is apparent in the renewed calls for banning same-sex marriages and continued attacks on abortion.

There is NO middle ground right now.

I'm certainly not proud to be an American right now, but I'm not going anywhere. I have hope that reason and compassion will not die. I'm not sure how we will ever get out of the bribery state we are in though.
