Why do you read the DU? You might as well read the idiots at Protest Warrior laughing about Abu Ghraib. These sites are mostly for teenage idiots exploring the nonsensical beliefs their parents taught them.

Anyway, while this guy is obviously more concerned with his hatred for Western democracy than a desire for good, I would urge you all not to associate morons like this with the voice of dissent that will inevitably continue to speak. We saw the war-supporters get very excited and even arrogant following the fall of Bagdhad, the killing of the Hussein brothers, and the capture of Saddam, but none of these significant events brought any amount of peace and stability to the country. In fact, they were followed by large increases in violence. This is potentially an enormous step toward coming up with some sort of resolution to this, but the country is still in shambles and is as dangerous as it has ever been. Let's not use this as proof of success until we have seen a consistent and measured improvement in the situation.
