Facts. You are right. Facts that do need to be taken into consideration.

And I stand by it.

And the Texas law has nothing to do with the Schiavo case. Surely you would've noticed that. It's the state she is in while starving her. She is diagnosed in the same state as a cerebral palsy patient.

Should we give family relatives the right to starve them to death?

my POINT, which you entirely missed, is that this whole act by congress and the president is a farce. Gov. Bush passed a law that allowed the doctors/relatives to make a decision whether the patient was savable. This grandstanding is totally contradictory with Bush's prior actions. It has a direct relevance on Florida.

I've understood that from the beginning. But don't you think that the Schiavo case itself is a tad bit different from all of the other cases? We're putting to sleep a woman that had hypoxic encaphalothapy, which resulted in a state that's relatively the same as cerebal palsy.

You ever heard of putting to sleep a person in such a state? Starving to death?

Here is a very good article describing what the cerebral cortex does. It has been clearly establish that Terry Schiavo does not have a cerebral cortex.

To have the symptons of Cerebral Palsal, she would have to have a Cerebral Cortex. Terry Schiavo DOES NOT have a Cerebral Cortex.

Of course I believe in science. I also believe the doctors who have done tests on her, and have come to the conclusion that she can be rehabilitated 'up to some point'.

I also believe the nurses who say that Terri responds to detailed conversation by laughing, giggling, etc. She can say 'pain', she can say 'momma' when her parents are around. She can move her extremeties when needed.

Like I said, she can be rehabilitated to some point. Not all the way, no one is expecting that as she has severe brain damage.
