here's the difference... conservatives think liberals are wrong.... liberals think conservatives are evil.... how many heads of the GOP tell us the "hate" demoncrats the way Dean said he hates Republicans... I don't mean to single him out (even though I did) its just a good example of an overriding theme... think of the level of contempt expressed here for conservastives and GW and the GOP. Its not disagreement with policy or goal or motive but outright disgust and contempt of there existence (with few, admittedly, exceptions).

and that is why I really have a hard time seeing eye to eye with some of these views... because it rarely ever has to do with how to solve our problems... the libs response here is always 'Bush sux, conservatives are retarded'

As if a democratic party majority wouldn't be falling into some of the same pitfalls as we are in now. It's the nature of the beast... and as long as parties have hard-lined agendas to fill there will always be complaining from the other side... which is fine by me, but I turn off my ears when the complaining becomes bashing rather than getting down to the roots of problems and what can be done to fix them.

You guys are NUTS. The downright bile I hear spewed across the airwaves on a daily basis about anyone who is not a conservative is beyond "hate." The right in this country has as much if not more contempt for people like me than I could ever imagine having for anyone, and I'm truly in the middle of the road on most issues. We are compared to murderers, called gutless, anti-American, etc, etc, just for expressing our views. You can't even admit you're a liberal, progressive, Democrat, or anything of the sort without being mocked.

By the way, noone hates George W. Bush just because he exists. If you recall, he is the guy who has been sending our brothers and children off to die in some non-sensical display of political hormones because he's too arrogant to be self-critical. If that's not cause for intense disdain, then I don't know what is.

Yea I think we can both agree that it happens on both sides. For example, Frank Rich and Maureen Dowd claiming that this is a 'theocracy'. I mean really. And anyone who disagrees with their views are labeled as 'intolerant'.
