Well, pretty much everything Tom Delay does is corrupt and disgusting. Nevertheless, I have said all along that this is just a great excuse for grandstanding on behalf of these Congressmen who think they have some right to tear down the separation of powers in our government to "make a point." And now, in typical Delay fashion, he comes right out and confirms how gleeful he is that this terrible situation has arisen to give him a platform to exploit his agenda.

Now obviously, the instinctual reaction from a young conservative to news like this is to immediately divert the subject by pointing out something that a liberal said that has absolutely no relevance to the current subject at hand. Of course, that has to be followed by some adolescent jab about how Bush is president. You play the part well.

Like I said earlier... there is a showdown w/the judiciary impending...

SCOTUS gets to say if a law is constitutional... we all agree... but when they start basing changes in law on things such as ~evolving standards of decency~ they've gone too far.... Congress and the Exec get to do that, be arbitrary and capricious... but the Judiciary is limited to the text....

Just as an exercise Ryan.... what checks on SCOTUS are you aware of and when ahve any checks been applied... I can think of 2 checks and I can think of each being applied a single time ... that's an unchecked branch

If I'm the adolecent conservative, what part is it you play Ryan, stubborn "progressive"? Because I don't think I've once seen you be critical of a democrat, no matter what they do or say...thus the point of my first post. I'm really starting to believe you don't think your own shit stinks. Besides, what would I be trying to divert attention from? DeLay may very well be corrupt, but there's a larger issue here that's been asking to get addressed; however it doesn't mean the one at hand is any less important.

Are you crazy? I have shredded numerous Democrats on numerous occasions. I have been outspoken in supporting Bush and Congressional Republicans in trying to reform SS and have been extremely critical of Dems for blocking it. I have torn into liberals on this board for oversimplifying the abortion issue. And I have always been one of the most outspoken critics you'll ever meet against the Hollywood leftists. I'm more Libertarian than I am Democrat, but I am less critical of them because I think they are doing substantially less harm to this country and to the world than are the Republicans.
