I think Gulliani would be a good choice for the Republicans. He's well liked and has incredible oratory abilities, the same basic skills that worked so well for Clinton. I don't know how well he would sit with the Religious Right, but he would certainly steal the prized center. I disagree with a number of his policies, but I don't find myself in agreement with many Reps to begin with.

Barring the Kerik mentioning, you seriously believe that Giuliani can't pull it off? All he has to is mention "I'm down with GWB" and the Reps bow down like wheat to the sickle.

Edwards as a gunner for number one contention I'm not buying either. To be both funny and honest, I think he got the nod as a partner this last time because the Dems were too afraid that Sharpton would eat them out of campaign money.

It'll get more subtle... comments will be couched in terms of national security w/out mentioning the specific date....

we're more and more an MTV electorate.... the same cliche will wear thin even if the underlying theme doesn't.

But, your general point.... I agree with very much.
