As the Bolton drama continues, and the judicial appointment debate threatens to revive dueling as quarrel resolution, I am bothered by the obvious, and I wonder if anyone else is. While the battle over Bolton's many troubling flaws is currently stalled by the Administrations refusal to release documents alleged to show yet another incident of improper actions by Bolton, one has to wonder what the administration and the GOP is thinking. This is an important post and if ever there was a time for integrity and cooperation on the part of W, this would be it. Its obvious that there are better choices, apparently almost anybody without a felony record would be better suited. Is W's ego, or the GOPs refusal to compromise on ANYTHING more important than the good of the country? Where are the positive qualities, the exemplery deed or 2 to offset all the reasons to dump him. Theres nothing, the administration and his henchmen have once again resorted to withholding information and maligning dissenters. Is this supposed to inspire confidence or respect here or abroad? Its time for this asshole (yes, the president is an asshole) to get his priorities straight. He works for us, and we don't like this shit. He has gotten everything he's wanted, to disastrous effect, by obsfucation, subterfuge and intimidation. He has yet to own up to a single mistake, he's ruined careers of people who dare speak the truth, weakened our defense and wasted lives with a senseless war of choice and he's used every chance he's had to further divide the country. With all the serious issues to address, he's used his so called "political capitol" to push extremists for important posts, attack gays and the poor, and thwart sciencentific progress and medical advancement. All deeply divisive issues of questionable urgency. Is the damage he's doing to the country and the political process worth feeding his massive ego? The debt keeps ballooning, the military is sinking into a quagmire, the poor are getting poorer, the sick can't afford medicine and don't have insurance but he'll be goddamned if he's gonna compromise on 7 freakin' judges(out of over 200) whose only distinguishing characteristics are the ability to smack his opponents in the face. That and he's thwarted the forces of gay marriage that threatened to destroy decent american, 50% successful nuptiuals.I mean, c'mon can't he at least find an extremist with at least one redeeming quality? Personally, I'm sick of his fucked up priorities and I'm sure I'm not alone.
